First taste of meeting Gaian friends in person: juicy & delicious

Today has been a significant, momentous, historic day as for the first time I met two of my wonderful friends here at gaia (and at facebook) in the flesh. Am still filled with awe and wonderment as I reminiesce those beautiful moments.
We had planned this meeting here, at facebook and over the mobiles and landlines, and in our dreams, and the Universe planned it much ahead of course. When they appeared walking into the entry doors of the Pacific Centre in downtown Vancouver, I felt warm and light and joyful abd that was matched by the sunny and bright weather outside, again the Universe conniving. We were hugging, smiling and were awestruck, overjoyed, thrilled. They were with a common friend from Rwanda Louise, though she prefered to leave us three behind to attend to our (and her own) affairs. I thought however that it would have been nice if she had joined us in the women's bonding and sharing which would have even made us more global - Carribean, Asian, Canadian, African merging into one!. Am leaving Sherri or Terrill to introduce Louise in their blogs.
What did we talk and chat (chatter) and discuss about? A lot - global diversity to start with; the growing gap between the haves and have nots; "the crisis is not really economic"; the challenges in Nepal that I've just left behind; beautiful Barbados; how could we make gaia move forward?; the just completed successful retreat (wait for Terrill's and Sherri's blogs on these); Sherri's presentation at the retreat; my family and my life in transition; social entrepreneurship; how to move my enterprise forward; women's emotional strength; Terrill's book "Leading RaspberryJam Visions Women's Way", her passions, family, and farmhouse in Mayne Island, teeming with wildlife like deer, eagle, dogs; and so on and so on.
Endless conversations, relaxed and peppered with dreams, ideas, positive outlook, and wishes of one day meeting up again somewhere, somehow. There were no hurries and when the time came for us to bid adieu, it just came naturally - I walked leftwards to take my bus and they walked the oppostie way to get to Terrill's parked pick-up van to take Sherri to the airport.
I treasure those moments.

Mila you are all treasures and it sounds wonderful, lovely photo of you all. I don't begrudge my caring commitment but it does prevent me joining similar meetings sadly, so it is wonderful to share such moments with you in a blog, thank you.
Oh! Awesome! I love the photo, love the opportunity you guys had to meet one another, love that Gaia has given us these chances to meet like-minded souls from around the world. This warms my heart so much. So very very cool that you could share with all of us!

Yes, can't describe the joy that showed in our faces in that very moment the photo was shot so delighted that you experienced the moment here somehow. This was taken by a young vivacious laady sitting across us. Sherri was going to approach the youn guy beside her but she stood up and excitedly offered to take the photo. I guess she felt our spirit! Terrill also took a few shots of Sherri and myself in her professional camera. Can't wait to see those.

although all the other comments echoed the words in my mind … “Wow! How Beautiful is that picture!?!!!” … are the first two thoughts that came to mind. It gave me much more hope, inspiration and encouragement than almost anything else I've seen, heard or experienced recently! Thank you three for be-ing and for sharing your moment of connectedness with the world, it is truly a beautiful place!
Great to reconnect with you Lars. I've missed you and many of my other friends here as I spend most of my time adjusting to a new environment, meeting new and old friends, taking care of family and home, and carrying on with my enterprise. Missed your special feature at the Enhancing Gaia Networking pod though I did visit a few times and enjoyed reading and smiling and laughing. Missed the haiku garden too but everything at its own time.

Hi everyone! I have been crazy busy since my return that same night. I hope you get a chance to visit my full BC blog to share in my little travelogue and hear more about Louise and others doing great things. I do wish that Louise could have stayed but she had a commitment with a family member. She is on Facebook, however, and is quite responsive to positive inputs; if we can't meet in person, let's cultivate our friendships online until we get the chance to hugggg!!!
It really was a 'dream come true' visit; we did optimise all the technology, didn't we? But really, it was a trip meant to be! I won't forget this year for a long time!

And Louise I met an amazing Rwandan lady here in Australia last week and I have to say you Rwandan women have such awesome energy and passion and enthusiasm and just plain gutsy, wow! If you are all like that, the rest of the world better watch out.
