Who was the last person you spoke to?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 03, 2008:
Spoke with my son Milind just before he went to bed. We talked about his homework over his one month vacation. I asked whether it was like last year in terms of load. He nodded with a grimace on his face. Then I asked whether he would do it by himself, unlike last year during our trip to USA when Mom had to nudge and guide him to do them. He just said emphatically "NO!"
He has argued over and over that the word vacation should be taken out of the dictionary by his school as it is not living up to the word's meaning. Well, Megh and I are in for another tough time, it seems - ha, ha, ha!

Help

: ) A knowing smile…my oldest, Brandon, was very troubled by the amount of homework he was given for his last summer vacation. I think Milind may be on to something - perhaps the word vacation should be taken out of the dictionary @ his school and many others all across the world. : )
I must admit Mila… I was mostly like your son when it comes to school and vacation time. Fortunately, I managed to figure it out and learned to get everything I could done in the first few days so that the rest of the time could truly be “time off!” and wouldn't be “ruined” by the school work that still needed doing. My heart goes out to you both as you find your way through these expectations. hugs Terrill
he has a good argument, looks like you are raising a wonderful thinker and one who is able to question meaning attached by others. way to go milind, good luck mom and dad :)
Thanks Michael! We're on my son's side and Brandon's, too! Some of the homeworks are rather interesting and he is excited to do those. Those which are exercises in textbooks (like math, English, etc.), he argues that they should be done in school only.
Hi Terrill! I will mention this to Milind and see how he'll appreciate the logic of it.
Yes, Shirley, we're raising a non-conformist, like his parents! Milind appreciates your complments and his parents thank you for your best wishes. Hugs and blessings dear friend!
